After Hawaii Bowl

Merry Christmas everyone!!!  I woke up this morning and watched a movie, since I figured that the Bahamas Bowl was going to be a real yawner.  After I finished my movie, I checked the game, and it was 42-14 at halftime.  I ate some breakfast and read some of my book, thinking I would kill time waiting for the game to end.  Part of the way through the 4th quarter, I decided to call the game for WKU and assign points.  I came back into the TV room figuring that I was going to catch the last few kneel downs in the Western Kentucky victory, only to see that Central Michigan had come all the way back to down one TD.  Even then, I just figured CMU had to go 80 yards with no time to sew up the victory.

It was at that point that I think I may have witnessed the most amazing play in my college football watching life.  I figured the game was over about 3 or 4 times during the course of the play.  Just incredible.  After they scored the TD, I was just as surprised that they decided to go for 2.  I actually liked the call, since regardless of the outcome, CMU had more or less won.  They already had a huge comeback that no one had guessed they would ever do.  They will be talking about that comeback for the rest of their lives.  If they won, it would have been gravy.

The second game was every bit the snooze-fest that I thought it would be, although it did give you the chance to see a 4' 9" RB from Rice.  That was entertaining.  The game wasn't, but that guy was.

So, we had 19 people go 2/2 today.  The biggest winner of the day was Brett W., who managed to get 63 points today.  That was good enough to move him from 8th to 2nd.  The only bad thing about his picks is that he is currently 22nd in net points, meaning that he has a lot of points, but he has wagered a lot of points to get there.  Actually, he has wagered the most points so far by a long shot.  He's almost 40% done with points after 10 games.  He has wagered 62 more points than the 2nd place wagerer, Andrew D.

We also had 11 people go 0/2 today.  Sadly, the biggest loser was Mandi A., who lost 48 points.  That didn't hurt her standing THAT bad, moving from 38th to 46th.  The real loss was in net points, where she finished the day in 54th place.  The good thing she has going for her is that she still has 75% of her points still available, so all hope is not lost.

Overall, we had an average of 1.14 games correct.  The number of points won on average was 16.41 and the average points lost was 9.16, so we came out slightly ahead on the day.

CBS Hinnen needs to start losing some games.  He is currently 9-1, which is crazy good to start this bowl season.

I hope everyone enjoys the break from the Bowl pool for Christmas.  We will be back on the Friday after Christmas with three more games.  I will be back later with the breakdowns of those games.  For now, I'm going to start wrapping gifts and preparing for the big day tomorrow.

Have a great Christmas and good luck to everyone!!!!!
