Good evening. It was
another interesting day of Bowl games.
There was one game that was exactly 50/50 as half the people took Miami-Florida
and the other half took West Virginia.
Aside from that, we almost went 3/3 on upsets - and I really thought
that Indiana was going to pull it out.
For those scoring at home, that means that favorites are 15 - 10
straight up in the 25 games we've seen so far.
However, due to the homoscedasticity of the pick distribution, there
weren't the wild swings in the standings that you'd think would go along with a
lot of upsets.
Unlike yesterday, no one managed to go 4/4 today. The best we had was 5 people that went 3/4
(Dan Dz., Chad L., Josiah T. #2, Marc S. & Dave M.). Dan Dz was the big winner for the day,
hauling in 76 points. Unfortunately, we
also 1 person go 0/4 today. Kevin F. #2 didn't
get any points, and managed to lose 86 points.
The averages for the day were 1.75 games correct, 38.36 points won and
40.57 points lost. It was a rough day
all the way around.
We did have a change at the top of the standings, as Mark
ESPN fell to #2. Brent E. #2 took over
the top spot, although only by 5 points.

But there are 3 more games tomorrow. Here are the particulars:
Alamo Bowl:
Vegas Line: Colorado -3
Median pick: Colorado for 8.5
Picks:
Colorado: 38 (average points: 16.74)
Oklahoma State: 18 (average points: 20.22)
Birmingham Bowl:
Vegas Line: South Florida -10
Median pick: South Florida for 26
Picks:
South Florida : 46 (average points: 25.87)
South Carolina : 10 (average points: 21.60)
Belk Bowl:
Vegas Line: Virginia Tech -7
Median pick: Virginia Tech for 24
Picks:
Virginia Tech : 48 (average points: 22.96)
Arkansas : 8 (average points: 20.75)
After tomorrow, there will be 14 games left, so I should be
able to calculate odds of winning, and also eliminations. That's always the best time of the pool for
me. It marks the final stretch of games,
and the goal is to just avoid getting mathematically eliminated.
Good luck to everyone!!!!!
