Bowl Pool 2015 - After 1 day (6 games)

Today started out with such promise.  The first game of the day was the only "upset" with the last 5 games of the day going to the team that we picked more.  That's not too fun, although I will admit that it did well for my own personal sheet.

Despite the rash of favorites today, the average number of games that people won was 3.82 / 6.  Only 3 people made it through the day unscathed.  Congratulations to Jim W., Dan D., and Michelle L. #1.  The only downside of picking that well is that if you didn't risk that many points, you can't coast too much.  You still need to win a bunch of games later on.  Actually, everyone still needs to win games later on.  It's just a little easier when you've run up a good point total.

On the flip side, only one person managed to get as few as 1 game right today.  It was former champion Tim N.  That's a rough start.  But, he still has 90%+ of is points still available, so there's still a chance to make a big comeback.

As a group, we won an average of 68.13 points, and managed to lose an average of -24.5.  That's a pretty good net point total.  We've had years where we had a negative point total as a group, so at least we are picking well so far.

Looks like it's a good day to be Jim W. .  I'd say that it was a good day to be Roth W, except that he has a sheet that is also number #41 in points as well as one at the top of the charts.  So, it was a good half day for Roth W..
