Bowl Pool 2021 - Crossing our fingers for the Camelia Bowl edition

 I hope everyone enjoyed the day off from pretty much all sports, as there was no football or basketball at all today.  As you probably know by now, today’s Hawaii Bowl was cancelled.  Just thinking about it, if COVID had been timed better Memphis could have played in the Gator Bowl instead of Rutgers.  Now, we get a 5-7 team on short notice and Memphis gets nothing.  Man, this pandemic is really throwing a wrench in the schedules.

So, because there was no game yesterday, everyone took an L for the Hawaii Bowl.  That means the points standings are exactly the same.  There may have been some slight changes in the net points rankings, but since everyone lost, not as much as it would otherwise be.  Sorry for that everyone.  It sucks.

So, there’s not much to recommend this Bowl other than to say that it’s the only bowl game that is going to be played until next Monday.  There are no games on Sunday, preserving the NFL moratorium apparently.  This is about as middle of the road a game as comes in the Bowl pool.  Apparently, this game is still going on.  Given that it is being played in Alabama, I guess that shouldn’t be a huge shock.  They are, let’s say, less strict about COVID protocols then other places in the country.  I hope everyone in the game stays healthy and safe.

As for me, whatever I had earlier this week, which we have ruled out as COVID, has now spread to my wife.  I still haven’t recovered full function of my lungs, but I’m also not dead tired all the time either.  Still coughing though, which is not good.
