After Fight Hunger Bowl - 12/27

Good evening.  We had another 3 games to go through today, for a total of 11.  That means that there are another 24 left before we finish this thing off.  It was moving day for some people, and some people had a really hard time.  I've noticed something strange so far - of the 4 most lopsided games in terms of picking teams for points, only one of them has had the favorite win.  Minnesota, Northern Illinois and Bowling Green have all cost the group dearly so far.

As proof of that, 2 of the three games were won by the favorite today.  The game with the biggest point spread produced the only upset of the day.  Because of that, only 4 sheets went 3-0 today.  Congratulations to Michelle L. #1 (41 points), Mandi A. (28 points) and Michelle L. #2 (25 points).  Sadly, 9 people went 0-3 today.  As a group, we averaged 1.44 correct games guessed today for an average of 18.25 points.  Sadly, we averaged losing 23.99 points, so we net -5.74 points today.

I think one of my favorite stats is that if you are net zero points, meaning you have won as many points as you've lost, you are currently in a tie for 36th place.  That's pretty respectable.  I personally like the upsets, since they crush people who didn't take any risks on picks.

I believe that the Belk Bowl and the BW3 Bowl are the only two where we took the underdog to win on the majority of the sheets. It's nice to see such collective guts shown by us as a group.  The Pinstripe Bowl is the first bowl in the top 10 as far as points wagered that will have been played.  The Russell Athletic is 14th overall, with the BW3 (26th) and Belk Bowls (27th) coming in much lower.
