March Madness - 12 games in

 Technically, we had 2 upsets in this set of 4 games as Wisconsin was a #9 seed.  North Texas was really the big one.  Purdue looked completely lost in overtime.  This also marks just the second team that was supposed to be in the Sweet 16 to lose.  Both of them were Big 10 teams so again, I’m not sure what it says about the Big 10.  Probably nothing.  I mean, Wisconsin looked good.  Who knows?  It was probably just a bad day for Ohio State and Purdue.  Fun day for those of us that like upsets.

Despite the upsets, they weren’t as big of upsets as we had earlier, so 7 people went 4/4.  Here’s the breakdown:

Nobody got shut out.  That’s largely because of the Houston blowout of Cleveland State.  Almost everyone got that right.

This is definitely not the game I care about.  I honestly will probably watch no amount of this game.  Strange that this may be the only game where the lower seeded team is actually the Vegas favorite.  That’s a little strange.  Who cares though.  Based on how Houston played, this looks like a 1 point only game.

The Vegas line vs the pick distribution is totally out of whack, mostly because I live in San Diego, went to San Diego State and so did a lot of people in the pool.  There is a ton of enthusiasm for San Diego State out here, especially with not being able to play last year.  This might be the team I watched more than anyone else all season.  Right now, they can’t shoot at all and are down 11, so I’m hoping this turns around quickly.  It’s not looking good right now and I’m a little nervous about it.

I know nothing of Morehead State.  I think West Virginia is a little overrated, but they still should be good enough to beat Morehead.  Then again, Ohio State and Purdue should have been good enough too.

Vegas Line: Villanova -6.5

Enough time has passed since Villanova lost their best player that him being missing should be baked in.  This is the 12/5 game that was I thought would be the pick most people took, but that honor goes to Georgetown over Colorado.  Still, Winthrop has only lost one time all season and Villanova is not the same team they were at mid-season.  I’m hoping for the upset.  We will see.

I’m really nervous about San Diego State.  They haven’t scored for almost 10 minutes!!!  C’mon Aztecs!!!!!!
