March Madness - Day 3 - 4 games in

 There’s a ton of games going on, and we had another upset with Syracuse knocking out West Virginia.  It looks like the Midwest region is going to be at least one of the wacky brackets.  Houston is losing at half time.  If they wind up losing, that means that Oklahoma State will be the highest remaining seed left.  If Oklahoma State and Houston somehow lose, that would mean that Loyola-Chicago would be the highest remaining seed.  That’s nuts.

 I was looking at the people with at the top of the points standings and her’s another reason why that is a misleading ranking.  Here’s the breakdown of who has what in the Championship game among the 4 entries with 29 points:

Klei R. #3 – Jay B.: Gonzaga over Illinois

Dennis R. #2: Michigan over Illinois

Mason A. #2: Illinois over Kansas

Chad L.: Ohio State over Gonzaga

In all 4 of those entries, they are missing at least one team in the Championship game.  That’s at least 30 points they are already going to lose that someone else will probably get.  I wouldn’t feel too great about that if I were them.  This is also why I say these first two rounds are more or less tiebreakers.

This is straight gravy for anyone that gets points out of this game.  Owen R. could be the biggest winner of all.  He’s the only person with Oral Roberts in the Sweet 16.  If he nails that, he can quit. 
He gets bragging rights no matter how else the pool plays out.
