March Madness - Eliminations for first 2 Friday games.

Good morning.  I think every game from here on out will have a ton of impact on people’s brackets.  There are just too many people that can get too many points for there not to be.  For example, there are 79 brackets left that can still get all remaining points.  I think last year at this time, there were less than 10.  Of those 79, 5 of them can’t win anything.

Yesterday, I was talking to someone that didn’t get into the pool this year, and he said “I should have got in.  My bracket is looking pretty good”.  This year, your bracket is going to have to look way better than that to win this thing.  I think the most points anyone has gotten in the last 10 years is around 155.  I think 25 people could do better than that this year.

Not sure that anyone cares, but I figured out a way to make this go more efficiently.  In the past, I had to hand calculate these eliminations in Excel, going through each table one by one and figuring out eliminations for 1^st, then 2^nd, etc.  A few years ago, I made a VBA Macro that does all that for me, but the result is a long string of eliminations that I have to consolidate by hand.  For instance, when I first get data from the Macro, it looks like this:

I then had to consolidate that by hand into one sentence per entry.  That took quite a bit of time, especially if there were a lot of them.  This morning, I just threw all of that into ChatGPT, and asked it to do all that for me and it worked!  That’s going to be a big time saver for me.  Woo Hoo!!!!!
