March Madness - 10 of 16

I probably like upsets more than the next guy, but does anyone really like Kentucky beating Wichita State.  Pulling for Kentucky, especially the one-and-done version of Kentucky, is like rooting for the Yankees or Red Sox.  It also has the unfortunate side effect of setting up a Sweet 16 matchup between maybe my 2 least favorite programs in all of college basketball, Kentucky and Louisville.  Honestly, if they could find a way to squeeze Duke into that game it would be just about a perfect amalgamation of basketball hatred for me.

That's one side of the bracket.  On the other side, Not many people saw Stanford coming.  The biggest winners of that game were not just the 9 people that had Stanford winning that game, but the countless people that took New Mexico to score a second round upset of Kansas.  They lose a lot less ground to the field on this one.  I looked ahead a little bit, and exactly 2 people have Stanford going to the elite 8 (Sally R., Chris L. #3), and both of those brackets are currently sitting in 207th and 241st place.  What that means is that everyone can probably sit back and just enjoy that game, since it won't really make any difference to the overall standings.

It could come as no surprise since there were 2 pretty big upsets this morning that not many people scored many points.  There were only 2 brackets that managed to go 2/2:  William G. #2 who moves from 142nd to 45th and Marissa W. #2, who moves from 63rd to 8th.

We also have a new leader, as seems to happen after just about every game these days.  The new leader is Chad L. #2.  The remarkable thing about his bracket is that his other bracket is the one I mentioned yesterday as having lost all 4 Final 4 teams.  Way to spread the picks, Chad.  I guess that's why you enter more than once.
