The best game nobody saw

 I pretty much accepted the fact that I wasn’t going to watch even a minute of today’s game.  However, I have a subscription to ESPN+ and I logged in at work a little while ago to read some articles about the college basketball season.  Lo and behold, when I went to ESPN today at lunch time, my site was streaming the game.  It was some time in the second quarter, and it looked like I was not missing anything.  I think Old Dominion was up by 21 maybe.  Not sure about that, but they were up a lot.  Imagine my surprise when I looked at the final score and saw that Western Kentucky pulled in out in OT.  That makes it technically an upset, and it makes it the second OT game of the Bowl season.  That’s really good from an entertainment perspective.  Definitely high value if you happened to be watching the game.  Sounds like I missed a good one.

The results are really what matter in our pool, and after today’s game, we are down to 3 undefeated entries (Ally H., Dennis R., Jaxon S.)  Wow.  Jaxon only has 36 points to say for his 8-0 start.  That’s good enough for 63^rd in total points and 37^th in net points.  Anyone that goes 8-0 would hope to be doing a little better in the standings, but that’s the point of assigning the points.  Ally H. and Dennis R. are both in the top 10.

Those that have been following this pool for a long time know that I usually root pretty hard for Ally H.  I think she’s been entering these pools since she was in elementary school.  I can’t verify this, but I wouldn’t be too surprised to find out she’s in college now.  I am old, and I’ve been at this for a long time.

I was hoping this game was midday, because this looks like the kind of game that might be best played midday, midweek.  It looks like a blowout in the making, and the picks show that.  This also looks like it will be an easy pick up of points or a great way to make up huge ground on the field.  Not only is this game 10^th in points wagered, it is the first game in the top 25 for that statistic.  Up until tomorrow, it’s kind of been bottom-feeder bowls as far points wagered goes.

Part of me kind of wants Marshall to win to shake things up.  Then again, I have 40 points on UTSA, so I’m of two minds.  Screw it, my picks are getting killed.  Go Thundering Herd!!!!!
