NCAA Day II - Next 2 games

We are about at halftime of the first games, and it’s not exactly as I would have expected.  Cincinnati jumped out to a big lead, but they are only up 5 at the break.  There is an old joke about Cincinnati that historically their best offense has been to throw up a terrible shot and then score off of an offensive rebound.  That’s pretty much what they’ve been doing so far.

As for the Mississippi / Oklahoma game, I am currently dusting off my algorithm on when exactly I can call a game.  This is a disaster so far for Mississippi.  It’s tough to watch.  It’s like a layup line for Oklahoma.

For those of you that are curious about my set-up.  Here’s what I get to look at all day.  There’s only 2 games on, but when there are 4, I feel like a conductor in front of an orchestra, promoting some games and demoting others.  Good times!!!!

That brings us to our next slate of 2 games.

Picks for Texas Tech: 216
Picks for Northern Kentucky: 11
Vegas Line: Texas Tech -13

This is my pick for t-shirt of the morning.  The reason I had to go with them is because I don’t have a t-shirt for Gardner Webb or Colgate.  It saddens me, and I probably will have those before next years’ tournament.  I actually don’t want Northern Kentucky to win, although if they get close to actually winning, I may change my mind.  The reason is I have Texas Tech winning it all in one of my 2 entries.  That entry is doing terribly.  It is currently in 217th place, but with Texas Tech winning it all, I bet it still has a shot at winning something.  Whether it actually would or not is analysis you probably won’t get in other pools.

Picks for Kansas State: 152
Picks for UC Irvine: 75
Vegas Line: Kansas State -4

This is a trendy upset pick.  UC Irvine dominated their conference nd won their tournament, so are coming in with a lot of momentum.  Kansas State ended Kansas’s roughly 468 year run winning the Big 12, so are good but have one of their best players injured.  How well he can recover may determine how well Kansas State does this year.  I personally would like to see an upset.  I feel like a broken record about that at this point.  Go Anteaters!!!!
