NCAA - Day IV - Stephen F Austin, you will be missed edition

If you remember from my first post, I thought that the Stephen F Austin / Notre Dame game was the only one that was supposed to be close based on the Vegas odds, and it certainly lived up to the hype.  A tip in at the buzzer helped the 50 people that had Notre Dame making the Sweet 16 (including yours truly).  I was actually pretty torn about that.  I have no particular love for Notre Dame, and I really liked watching Stephen F. Austin, so I was torn between rooting for my bracket and rooting for the big upset.  I think I eventually came down on this point - Notre Dame winning provides 50 brackets points that the gutless cowards hat picked by the seeds won't get.  That's a good tiebreaker in my book.

Sadly, the Villanova game was a real yawn.  Thanks CBS, for subjecting us to that atrocity as the only game to watch in the morning.  That game was over as soon as they tipped it off.

Amazingly, only 35 people managed to go 2/2 so far today.  As I mentioned yesterday, no one can go 8/8.

Hmmm... Despite more people picking VCU to win over Oregon State in the first round, there were more people thinking that Oregon State was going to make the Sweet 16 than VCU.  That's a strange breakdown.  It's like people didn't really think much of Oregon State, but the people that liked them, really liked them.

Syracuse / MTSU

Wow.  If you remember from the first round, no one even had MTSU winning a game, much less two games.  Kind of similar on the other side.  Syracuse was not supposed to get by Dayton.  This is a HUGE game for the 5 people that managed to pick Syracuse.  For the rest of us, it makes very, very little difference.  We are all just spectators in this part of the bracket, compliments of MSU.
