Crowing about Houston

 I knew I liked this Houston team.  I’ve watched them a lot this season, and this is pretty much the team I expected to see.  That’s why I had them ranked as the #3 team in the country.  They kill teams.  The only reason they are a #5 seed is because they didn’t have a schedule where they were playing a bunch of ranked teams.  I would argue that is OK because they overperformed in the games that they did play.  Apparently, that nuance didn’t make it into the committee room when they were picking seeds.  I’ll be sad when Arizona or Houston has to go out (assuming Arizona wins later today).

This being a 4/5 game, it separated the field a little bit.

I was looking at the games today, and looking at my bracket.  Despite doing really bad up until now, I could still go 8/8 today.  As such, I had a tough call as to what t-short to wear today, since I don’t really want any of my picks to lose.  I figured that this game is the favorite that will benefit me most by losing.  I had Villanova losing to Tennessee in the next round anyway, so if they lose here, I’ll lose 2 points, but Villanova fans will lose even more.  Unfortunately, for me Ohio State is another one of those teams that always seems to bow out early every year.  I had forgotten that Oral Roberts beat them as a #2 seed last year.  I’m not sold this team is any good, but for the sake of the bracket and the sake of bracket carnage, I’ll root for them today.
