Another first round in the books. I have to say that it wasn’t as exciting as yesterday. No real big teams lost. It really only seemed to hurt people that went out on a limb and took some upsets – only to have those upsets let them down. There were some pretty good games later in the day, but there were more than a couple of snooze-fests in there as well.
So, no one went 16/16 today.
The best anyone did was Valerie D. who was the only person to manage to
go 15/16, moving her from 59th yesterday in points all the way up to
5th today. Our biggest mover
of the day was Dustin B., who went from 171st yesterday to 64th
today by going 14/16. Yesterday, we averaged
9.82 points per bracket. Today, we were
at 11.55, so quite a bit easier.
4 people managed to go 8/8 in the West bracket, including
Bret K. twice. The other two were our
leader, Max A and Kiah H. No one went
8/8 in the East. 16 people went 8/8 in
the South, and only Ryan W. managed to go 8/8 in the Midwest. Good picking by all those people.

Tomorrow,
the games start to get a little more serious, although I’d still argue
that 2 points per game won’t crush too many people, unless you lose the wrong
two points. They are going to do that
thing were they show one game in full, then another game in full, then stagger
the rest every hour. I’ll try to update the
standings whenever there is a good break in the action.
In the mean time, I want to shout out my brother for his
hospitality. I saw the cats a couple of
times, but most of the time they hid themselves.
