Day 2 - Update MSU wins! edition

Form has largely held so far this morning.  Michigan State had to sweat out the last minute of the Georgia game, but they wound up winning.  That means chalk went 2/2 so far this morning.  Because of that, 178 people went 2/2 so far today.  Somehow, 2 people managed to 0/2 today (Jonathan O. and Sally R.).  It should come as no surprise that both of them are near the bottom of the standings.

In other games, Northern Iowa seems to be mopping the floor with Wyoming.  I thought that Northern Iowa was surprisingly low seeded at 5, so I'd love to say I saw that coming.  Truth is, they could probably have lost that game as well.  I thought Iowa State was good after all, so I clearly don't know what I'm talking about.  It is nice to give the illusion that I do from time to time.

The Buffalo / West Virginia game was threatening to become a blowout as well, but it looks like Buffalo has cut into the lead lately.  I'll take that.  Not many of the games so far have been all that close.  It would be nice to see some excitement.  I get a little restless when chalk wins every time.

The only real change to the top 10 was that Steve K. #1 dropped from 4th to 18th after picking Georgia.  He would have been tied for first if Georgia had one.  That's how things swing in this tournament.  Gotta take some chances and hope they pay off.

There are 2 more games coming up.  The first game looks to be a pretty good one.  Wichita State / Indiana

I was pretty surprised that Indiana was even in the tournament this year.  I also thought that Wichita State was better than a 7th seed.  That would make you think that Wichita State should crush Indiana, but I could have made the same case for SMU and UCLA, so I think anything could happen.  Apparently, a lot of you agree because 68 is a lot of picks for Indiana.  We'll see.  That's why they play the games.

The second game might be a yawner.  Virginia / Belmont.

Virginia: 201

Vegas Line: Virginia -17

I say that this could be a yawner because Virginia is really good, and they play kind of a boring brand of low-scoring basketball.  Belmont pulled off the upset last year of Duke in the first round, but I don't think this team is the same as last years.  I'd love to see it.  It would be the upset of the tournament, but I'm not really that optimistic that it will happen.
