NCAA 2nd round - Upset #2 edition

Two more games down and we had yet another upset as Florida State got knocked off by Xavier.  As a group, we did better in this set of 2 games, compliments of Gonzaga winning.  We averaged 2.17 points.  33 people went 2/2 in this little group of games, including Tim's Stepson, who is currently the only person who has gone 4/4 today.  That is good enough to move from 122nd all the way to 6th currently.  Wow.  That's a huge move.  My guess is that he'll fade a little since he has UC Davis, Kansas State and Oklahoma State in the Sweet 16, but for now he's right back in contention.

There are another set of 2 games to finish the day.  These both look to be close, and normally, I'd think of them as glorified tiebreaker games, since they are both 4/5 games.  However, the loss of Villanova makes the first game much more relevant to many people.

Florida / Virginia

This game is especially interesting to the 26 people that have the winner of this game going all the way to the Elite 8.  That's 4 points on the field that are very, very valuable at this point in the tournament.  I think these teams were sexy picks for early round upsets, but now they are looking like the favorites to make the Elite 8 (whoever wins this game).

Purdue / Iowa State

This is toss up.  I think that if these teams played better teams in the opening rounds, they would have been picked as upset specials.  Neither of them has a particularly stellar record in the tournament, but at least one of them will make the Sweet 16.  It looks people had a little more faith in the winner of this game to make the Elite 8.  34 people have either Iowa State or Purdue there.  That would be interesting.
