Good morning. A quick
update on the first two early games. The
format today is the same as yesterday (2-2-2-2-4-4). That means that the first 2 games are about
to go off in a manner of minutes.
Here's the breakdown of the 2 early games:
Michigan / Oklahoma State
Michigan: 164
Oklahoma State: 61
Vegas Line: Michigan by 2
I think there may be some value to picking Oklahoma State
here. Everyone was in love with Michigan
after winning the Big 10 tournament, but being favored by 2 doesn't seem to
equate to having in excess of 100 additional people pick them. This probably should have been closer to even
as far as picks go. I don't really know
much about Oklahoma State, which probably makes me just like a lot of people in
this pool. They seem to be pretty far
under the radar.
Baylor / New Mexico State
Baylor: 212
New Mexico State: 13
Vegas Line: Baylor by 12.
Baylor is another one of those teams that seems to come up
short in the tournament. I'm not sure
that New Mexico State is the team that will knock them out, but they are
playing the game so why not? We need a
big upset from somewhere and Baylor is as good a candidate as any. Besides, I think my Dad took New Mexico
State, and I am pulling for him.
Speaking of my Dad, I was trying to give some context to the
difficulty of this pool. Yesterday, he
went 12/16 and lost one of his Sweet 16 teams.
In most years, that would put you squarely in the running. So far this year, that would put you at
141st, so right around the bottom 3rd.
That's pretty tough.
Good luck!!!!!
