That does it.  We have 16 teams left.  15 of the 16 were favorites coming into this weekend.  The only team to win that wasn’t favored was Clemson over Baylor.  You know, sometimes you get a crazy bracket like last year, and sometimes you get a sweet 16 that is all Top 4 seeds except for an 11, a 6 and 2 5s.

How crazy are the next rounds going to be?  Well, 35 people are not missing any of their Elite 8 teams.  Another 68 people are only missing 1 elite 8 team.  Given that, it seems like there will be an awful lot of people that are still alive not just for first place, but for all 5 payouts.  It also seems like whoever wins this thing is going to have to go something like 14/15 or 15/15 in the next 15 games.  It also means a ton of carnage in each game.  Yikes!!!

Ok.  For people that are new to this pool, here is how it is going to go from here on out.  I’ll still keep track of how many points everyone has, and I’ll send out those rankings at the end of the day.  But, what I mostly be doing is figuring out the probabilities that each of you will get any of the 5 payout places.  There will be a matrix that shows your chances of winning each place.  I will rank it by whoever has the greatest chance of winning something.  This is slightly different than what I was doing with the regions before.  With that matrix, you could win all 4 places if you did well enough.  For the Top 5 spots, an individual bracket can only win one spot.  I also take tie-breakers into consideration, since I’ll be using those to determine who wins if final points are the same.

For anyone that can still get first, I also post who you need to root for the next round to increase your chances to win.  Some of that may be obvious, but I’ll do it anyway,

I also will post who will be knocked out as a result of any individual game so you can know who to root for. 

It'll take me a little while to calculate all this stuff, but I’ll notify everyone as the week goes on.
